Fixed on Sobriety (Weight Loss)

Hey LaPazions, I know many when they see the word “Sobriety,”  they  automatically think you are speaking of either, someone addicted to drinking, drugs or even sex addicts.  I’m not speaking of any of these when I say “sobriety and weight loss.”   This post has a lot to do with me and my weekend, you see this weekend was very special for me due to two major occurrences:

  1. A special observance
  2.  Sip and Chat

I was so excited for both events, but as the dates drew closer I started pulling my wardrobe i.e. Professional Image Consultant (don’t read between the lines because, I’m going to fill in all the blank spaces).  I am very confident in my skin and I am one that believes beauty isn’t superficial, it is from deep within and I own every inch of it… What I am speaking on is this, I have stopped wanting to carry the extra weight on my body, I didn’t like most of my outfits that we pulled for the weekend, I found myself not loving the example (health wise) I am setting for my followers and those that I am mentoring.  I made a “Sober Commitment Agreement” with myself and decided to get real with my diet and choices..

I live a somewhat hectic life and schedule, which means I skip meals, grab what I can get, drink one too many coffee’s, snack on things that I shouldn’t and lastly eat at bad hours.. Yes, that is me Sonya LaRae.. LOL!!  My assistant just passed out after reading this.. Hey, I believe in being real not just with you or my clients but, much more for myself and holding myself accountable for my choices.  Here it is many times I don’t get photographed full-length waist up is always my go to choice because, you kind of have the “illusion” of not being that heavy .  Well LaPazions, here is a full-length picture of myself:textgram_1551572772Yes this is me and oh by the way I wear a LOT of black, but only because I love the color and I think it has become my uniform of choice…  LaPazions  today I am going to take up 7 Commandments to my journey via the fabulous Jillian Michael:

  1. DO NOT OVEREAT (EVEN HEALTHY FOODS):  “Weight maintenance and weight loss are about how much you’re taking in,” says Michael’s. “I don’t care how healthy the food is. Don’t overeat!” she stresses. Granted, healthier foods will do a better job of fueling your body, but at the end of the day, a calorie is a calorie.

2.  COUNT CALORIES – BUT NOT FOREVER:  While counting calories has a bad rap in some nutritional circles, Michael’s considers it to be absolutely essential if you’re trying to lose weight–and she doesn’t budge on that opinion. “You must know the calories,” she says. Michael’s also stated, “I can’t tell you how many times people come to me and they’re like, ‘I can’t lose weight.’ Or ‘I’ve plateaued.’ And then I look at the simple math and I’m like, dude!” While calorie requirements for weight loss are different for every person, Michael’s urges people to get an app to do the work for you—and once you get the hang of it, you can be conscious of the calories in your food without the technology.

3. READ LABELS AND MAKE EATING QUALITY, NUTRITIOUS FOOD YOUR NUMBER ONE PRIORITY: The bottom line is, it’s about the quality of your food. Get rid of the chemicals,” she says. “Read the label. You have to be proactive about your own health in every possible way. And if you don’t know what the hell it is, you probably shouldn’t be eating it.” Healthy food

I have to pause here and tell you all that number 4 has got to be the hardest thing in my diet and life to do:

4.   BE CONSISTENT WITH EXERCISE:  Now this has got to be Michael’s #1-rule for exercise is to be consistent. “Try to go at least four times a week, and try to get in at least four half-hour routines,” she says. “Consistency is critical.”   Look for me I’m just first trying to make it a twice a week consistent routine.. I use to be a swimmer and I swam everyday for years while in middle school – college.. My body was in great shape and  I felt great everyday, I want that feeling again energy!!

5.  DO A VERITY OF WORKOUTS THAT YOU LIKE:  I thought this was such a good suggestion by Michael’s, because it’s really true if you don’t like what you’re doing you will not keep doing it i.e. exercise and dieting.. LOL!!

I refuse to call my new sobriety a diet, I’m determine to look at it as a new way of living healthy and better than ever!!

6.  GIVE YOURSELF A TREAT:  Now don’t get excited reading that, this means that you get to have something that is good but, also not 900 calories…  This means don’t go cold turkey on your sobriety weight loss goal, give yourself permission to have something like a slice of pizza or a scoop of ice cream.. Just don’t go wild on your treating of self..

See I always remember that statement, “What you put in you is what you will get out”  We have to know that our selections are what either helps us to stay healthy or keeps us on our weight gain, unhealthy lifestyles:

Changing Diet

7. MOST IMPORTANTLY, IDENTIFY YOUR “WHY” AND WRITE IT DOWN:  I find this so important when I work with my clients.. You have to know why you’re changing your habits, so this way you can keep your changes and move forward in a healthy lifestyle..

I’m excited to be taking this journey and I hope in a few months I’ll repost another full-length picture and you’ll see the insane healthy lifestyle changes I’ve made..  I cannot wait to hear your feedback on this topic and to see what you’re doing to walk in your Weight loss Sobriety.

xoxo

Ardell Magnetic Lashes

Ladies I am about to blow your mind with this review- you may be asking yourself how so?  Like this, I will NEVER  purchase another pair of lashes that have to be glued on, nor will I be going back to my girl for my lash extensions!!  Yup, you just read this correctly because, the magnetic lashes by Ardell are AMAZING.

The Ardell lashes, that we are bring to you, are the Magnetic Accents that just make your eyes pop.  Let me tell you they look so natural, aren’t heavy , and they frame your eyes beautiful to add that little mystique.  I get more compliments wearing my Ardell Magnetic Lashes, then I have ever with the full-strip (glued), or my extensions.  I have to tell you the little tricks I’ve done that make them extremely easy to apply.20190404_133208

I apply mascara to my lashes 1st, which I’ve noticed it helps with the application process.  I place my top lash close to the rim of the lid, and because of the mascara, it helps them sit just on top.. I then place the bottom lash right under the top lash and you feel the magnets lock together, and Bam!! they are on and looking fabulous:

I’m really looking forward to hearing your thoughts and feelings on the products, and we would love to see your fabulous lashes on.  Please make sure you follow us on Instagram located at http://www.instagram.com/lapazimageing

We love the products and the pigments are true, bold and rich.  They go on very smoothly and don’t clump or flake.. Very light weight and gave our natural look a clean and fresh feel.  We would recommend all these products and plan to keep them in our inventory and will introduce them to our clients.

NYFW- Cynthia Rowley

I think we all was a little shocked to hear that Cynthia Rowley would be showing this season, being that she had sworn off runway shows.  Rowley, decided to present this seasons collection at the London Terrace Towers, where she opted to use the apartments pool area which was half-size of an Olympic sized pool.

I think I’m in full anticipation on what we will be offered with this collection and what will be the feel and tone of the clothing… Yes, showtime and the first look comes out – well okay I’m not blown away nor does it take my breath away:

textgram_1550162389This collection wasn’t necessarily breaking new ground, we see that everyone is going retro (some doing it better than others), the collections retro energy to me fit Rowley to a T – and made somewhat of a nice reintroduction back onto the runway.. Ladies the 70’s will be living on and we hope you will make the trend your own and not get to tongue in cheek with it:
